Archery fascinates me. I used to enjoy it as a youth and I've been thinking about it again of late, I'm not sure why, and then I stumbled upon this tribe.
I'd like to give it a try again but am not sure how or where to start. I'm in Essex County, NJ but spend a lot of time in Bergen County too.
Thanks!

Re: "Noob" Archer
Wed, March 29, 2006 - 4:06 PMI think that no matter what style you choose, taking lessons is a must to get the proper form and safety info at the start. It’s easier to learn the right technique than it is to un-learn a bad one. Maybe the instructor can lead you to some good used equipment. I just found this web site which locates ranges and lists clubs.

If you can, find a range without pistol/rifle shooting. I looked at one today and the archery rage was 20 meters from the shotgun course. Not a very relaxing atmosphere to shoot in. BAM-BAM-BAM!!
Good luck.
