I'm sure this has been asked thousands of times before, but does anyone know of any archery academies/schools/etc in the bay area?

I would expect there should be *something* in the Bay Area.

I just emailed the owner's of The Bow Rack ( www.bowrack.com/shop.htm ) in San Pablo, to find out if they have any classes. They used to, many, many years ago, but now it is under new ownership, so I don't know. I will let you know as soon as I find out anything.

There's the Bow Rack, and there might still be the place in Union City. They had a 35yd indoor testing range. I got a dozen arrows there in '98, I think. I'd be pleasantly surprised if its still there. I remember Norm from the Rack. There's a chatty fellow. I think he said all of 3 words to me when he cut my arrows and aligned my peepsight. Luckily the rest came naturally. Check to see if the Redwood Bowmen have classes. Learn on the country's best range.

Have you been to the Redwood Range? Shooters all over the country look forward to tournaments there. I usually ride my bike there, with my cute little compound strapped to the back. We should go someday and put Hostess cherry pies on the targets. Work our way up to ketchup packets.
