Lessons & Where to go?

topic posted Tue, July 5, 2005 - 5:13 PM by  §Þεη¢ε®
Hi all,

My 13 year old son is interested in archery, and I would like to find out where we can go...do any of you know of a range in the San Francisco Bay Area? We're in suburbia and I don't want to cause any accidents.

Thanks,
Spencer

Briones Park between Martinez and Lafeyette has a range. Redwood park in the Oakland hills has two ranges (one is a walking range) as well a a group (The Redwood Bowmen) that your son could join. I'm told that the range in Golden Gate Park is pretty cool. I'm supposed to go out there at some point with my old archery instructor from college. I'll know more about that then.

Redwood rocks! There's a sighting range, an open course, with circle targets, and a closed course with animal targets. Both courses have a bit of walking involved, but after riding my bike up there, I can't complain. Don't let the club members intimidate you. They always try to crowd whoever's there.

Its so nice to find this tribe!
I've become fascinated with archery this past summer, and am wondering if any of you kind souls knows of a range in the Philadelphia suburbs area.... A bit of a stretch I know, but worth a shot eh?
