Forgive my continued ignorance, but I have one more question...are broadhead arrows suitable for target shooting? Because in my research I find one can order custom arrows with either "target tips" or "broadheads".

Tue, March 22, 2005 - 12:49 PMNo. They tear up the targets and target backing something fierce. (It's what they're supposed to do.)
And most places won't let you target shoot with broadheads.

Re: One more...
Tue, April 12, 2005 - 8:28 PMActually, there are a few -- very few -- ranges set up specifically for broadhead shooting, for those who wish to practice specifically for hunting purposes; field (target) tips tend to "fly" differently than broadheads (it involves a thing called "physics"). You *can* get special targets made for use with broadheads (although field tips can be used with them also), but they do get expensive.
